Mike’s ideas are deep and penetrating, but at the same time they are accessible to anyone.

Booking

I know it is difficult to book the right speaker for your event. There is much at stake. As a pastor, I know the risk and reward for you and your people in bringing someone in to speak. So before committing to an event, I'll speak with you in person to ensure that we bring your people exactly what they need. My goal in speaking is to faithfully communicate difficult concepts and issues in a straightforward and applicable manner so that the church is equipped to spread the gospel and seek the good of others.

I've spoken at small and large events all over the country, and each time I make it my goal to partner with the organization to ensure that their unique needs are meet. As a pastor, a leader for a national organization, and even as a musician, I understand the necessity of knowing your audience and delivering what is most beneficial to them, not merely coming with pre-packaged material. I hope the information on this page will help you make the best decision for your event. I’m honored that you would consider me. Should you decide to use me as a speaker, please contact me below.

Who is Michael c sherrard?

Well first, I'm Mike. My friends call me Mike. Please call me Mike. Michael C is for search engines, not my friends. There are some Mike Sherrard's that I rather not be confused with. But for you, I'm Mike. If you call me Michael, I'll know where we stand.

I can't remember a time not believing in Jesus. I was blessed with a loving family and parents that faithfully followed Jesus. They taught me about God and showed me he was real by the way they lived. I grew up playing sports and have great memories of trips to ballparks in the cold of winter to hit ball after ball with my brother and dad. I was a reader and loved the works of Lewis, Tolkien, and the Hardy Boys, but I never envisioned a time when I would do something non-athletic. This is despite the fact that my brother knew all along that I was a "nerd who just happened to be athletic."

My plans were to pursue baseball as far as it would take me and there were opportunities to do so. Back surgery and the Lord's providence got in the way. But in the absence of baseball, I met the love of my wife, my two dearest friends, learned to play the guitar and traveled in a Christian band for seven years, and found my calling. I'd say that was a fair trade. The Lord's ways are good, amen?

Part of my calling included higher education and it was at Luther Rice in a class with Richard Howe that I discovered apologetics. It makes me mad to see folly be sold as wisdom. And it hurts to watch men and women find death instead of life. And in Richard's class I saw clearly how apologetics could be a tool to help others see and love what is true. Apologetics is a tool to help God's people lead others into truth and the abundant life that comes from following Jesus and his teaching.

I use my education as a pastor, speaker, and author to help this world see the goodness of God and the rightness of surrendering your life to him. The Lord has graciously now let me serve him and his church for over 15 years. Part of that time was a youth minister, high school teacher, musician, and now as a pastor for Crosspoint and the director for Ratio Christi College Prep. I'm grateful for the Lord's grace in my life and look forward to serving him and his church for many years.
